Archer the Fourth

(Adam) Archer the Fourth is a multidisciplinary artist based in Toronto, Ontario. Growing up on an island in the Muskoka area of Ontario, he was immersed in nature from an early age. As a result, his artistic practice is a reflection of the natural world and changes he’s witnessed in the environments while living in Muskoka, Vancouver, Whistler, and Toronto.

This work is also a personally cathartic expression of Archer the Fourth’s personal, mental health struggles, many of which stemmed from childhood trauma, bullying and being called an alien.

He has taken one of the darkest parts of his existence and found the beauty within it, creating a narrative that simultaneously draws upon his own experience, while inspiring the viewer to increase their awareness of how humanity is impacting ecosystems worldwide.

When exploring his work, Archer the Fourth asks us to take a deeper look inside and ask, how can I make beauty and find grace within this broken place? It is easy to feel alienated by societal standards, but know that what is often used against you by others is your true superpower. 

Ultimately, his message is, your ability is endless. Your expression is boundless.
